In 2004 I would get into work, grab a coffee and log on to see where they had got to every morning. The daily tracker, the updates and the pure adventure of it all had me hooked! By the time the television programme reached our screens I had read up on almost every where they had been.

Following their adventure I became obsessed with the idea of getting out there and doing it myself, all be it with less camping.
