Winter Blues

As I sit here in the grey cold I am going through old trip photo's and dreaming of getting back out on the road.
2017 was not the best biking year I've had, The bike spent the entire summer in the workshop thanks to a minor accident and an unbelievable amount of incompetence and red tape by insurance companies. Three months to get a mudguard and re seat the head stock bearings, so thanks Bennets and Aviva.
The recent surge in bike theft in London has meant my insurance has doubled in cost, and many insurers have simply stopped offering insurance in London.
And Finally , after six replacement bushes and a new rear brake pedal, a new gear shift lever and bush, we have had to accept that the FLD Switchback is just not up  to dealing with british weather and the rear brake will stick if it gets wet.
It's a pity because I love both the looks and practicality of the Switchback, luckily Harley have just brought out the Sport Glide! A test ride later and we're trading up.
Now the usual excitement of a new bike and the dreams of where it can take you have been tempered by the cost, and the usual Harley balls up. We ordered the bike last week from the fantastic team at  Lakeside Harley Davidson , they still haven't been able to get a response from Harley Davidson UK as to we when we can have it!
The cost has meant the 3 week trip we had hoped to do to Scandinavia (one of Europe's most expensive destinations) is being re thought.
